woodworking bed frame

Woodworking – Specific Mortise?
I am repairing a bed frame, I must also make pin 2 "deep, 5" long and 1 / 8 "wide at the end of the rail for the bracket that the rails on the header and footer attached. (Note: The width is the compelling dimension) I thought to plunge it with my hand circ. saw, but I'm afraid I can not place. I also thought about using my table saw, but the piece is 88 "long, I could never hold it vertically. Any ideas?
The easiest and safest way would be to perform the following steps: 1) Secure Your Terminal rail (horizontally) and the end in a comfortable position for you. 2) Use a pencil and ruler to create space and an overview of the hole you cut. 3) With a 1 / 8 "diameter Drill, drill a series of 2 "deep holes in the layout lines you created. Start at one end and pull in more than 1 / 8" increments with each hole. This will the bulk of the material. To obtain a uniform depth of each hole, place a piece of tape around the bit, or mark the bit in 2 ". Note: Standard Drills Bits will work, but a little Brad Point would be better. 4) with a sharp chisel to pare away the remaining material. This should concoct a clean cut. Good luck!
