Money for college student?
I’m 20 and in my sophomore yearof college. Originall I was living on money sent from home but now my mom quit her job and they have no extra cash. But I am jobless untill more hay is produced, or winter is here. And where I live (chicago) places of business will not hire someone who is in college that has no work exp but a little time on the farm, and a little bit of everything.
Here are the things I know how to do.
Mechanic, electricition, construction, snow removal, heave equipment, networking/it, computrter management, cleaning, construction, business administration, computer hardware, sales, woodworking/crafting, painting, landscaping, gardening. I have expereince in alof these but not certified or have proper degrees for anything.
I would like to know where I will be able to work because I won’t be hired by any of the places I have applied to in the local area so please send me some advise. Please and thanks.
You’re a Jack of all trades. I’m sure there is something in there you enjoy doing more than anything in the world.
Simplest solution: find that one thing and take what you can get. That may mean sitting out some time from college and earning enough to pay for your needs. Yes that would postpone your graduation but it is better than going into debt which is what I’m assuming you’re trying to avoid. I’d also look around at companies that help pay college tuition and Home Depot last time I checked pays some from college whim paying you to work.
Since you found this site, you must enjoy working with wood. And if you’re like me, you’ve probably spent hundreds of hard-earned dollars on wood plans and projects that turned out to be disappointing (or maybe even disastrous!). Maybe you’ve halted projects in mid-stream because of frustration or from running out of ideas. To read more, please click here:Woodworking4Home
